We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Specialist to lead the development and implementation of enterprise data governance strategies and frameworks. This role supports data governance initiatives from project planning through proof-of-concept ensuring data quality security and compliance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Governance Strategy & Framework
Partner with leadership data owners and stakeholders to align and support data governance initiatives
Develop enterprise data governance strategy framework and project-specific governance plans
Establish policies standards and procedures for managing data across the organization
Data Quality & Compliance
Propose and implement solutions to improve data accuracy consistency and integrity
Ensure alignment with data security laws regulations and industry standards
Support development of data quality metrics and reporting mechanisms
Stakeholder Engagement & Training
Collaborate with IT teams business owners and external stakeholders
Develop and deliver training materials on data governance best practices
Provide guidance on governance processes and adoption
Documentation & Process Management
Create detailed documentation of governance processes procedures and standards
Support implementation of governance tools and frameworks
Contribute to project planning and governance-related deliverables
Required Qualifications
5 years of experience in data governance
Experience conducting project readiness assessments for data systems in public sector law enforcement or similar environments
Experience developing procurement strategies for technology modernization initiatives involving data systems
Experience designing and implementing data governance frameworks for large organizations
Strong understanding of data policies standards and regulatory compliance
Bachelors degree
