We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Clinical Nurse Manager to assist in leading patient care operations in partnership with the Unit Director. This role is responsible for supporting both the clinical and administrative functions of the patient care unit while ensuring the delivery of high-quality cost-effective patient-centered care.
The Clinical Nurse Manager provides leadership mentorship and operational oversight to nursing staff while maintaining compliance with all hospital state federal The Joint Commission and American Nurses Association (ANA) standards.
This position carries 24-hour accountability for supporting continuity of care staffing resources and patient care operations.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a clinical resource mentor and role model for nursing staff
Support the development of clinical and leadership skills among assistant nurse managers and nursing personnel
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and operational performance
Assist in the management organization and direction of patient care unit operations
Monitor and maintain awareness of resource utilization and cost-effective care delivery
Promote excellence in customer service and patient satisfaction
Coordinate and provide staff education in-service training and professional development programs
Lead unit-specific orientation and onboarding for new employees
Represent unit leadership in committees and interdisciplinary meetings as assigned
Ensure compliance with HIPAA policies and minimum necessary access requirements
Fulfill responsibilities within the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) during emergencies or disaster situations
Maintain knowledge of hospital emergency codes and response procedures
QualificationsEducation
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or related field required
Masters degree in Nursing Education Management or related field preferred
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a related specialty area
Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or management experience
Working knowledge of quality improvement processes and Joint Commission standards
Licensure & Certifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification required for Critical Care Clinical Managers
National specialty certification strongly preferred
