Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance repair and safe operation of all school facilities and grounds. This role ensures a clean functional and secure environment for students staff and visitors by managing maintenance staff coordinating repairs and enforcing safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the daily work of maintenance and custodial staff
Plan schedule and oversee preventative maintenance programs
Inspect school buildings systems (HVAC plumbing electrical) and grounds regularly
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs
Ensure compliance with safety regulations building codes and district policies
Maintain inventory of tools equipment and supplies; order materials as needed
Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs
Prepare maintenance reports work logs and budget estimates
Train staff on proper procedures safety practices and equipment use
Support school events by ensuring facilities are properly set up and maintained
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (Associates or technical certification preferred)
35 years of maintenance experience preferably in a school setting
Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
Knowledge of HVAC electrical plumbing and general building systems
Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
