Wesley is a long-standing local non-profit working in Brantford Halton and Hamilton. We are passionate about assisting the people in the communities that we serve. Our work is focused on children and family programs housing & homelessness and resettling newcomers to Canada.
We are deeply committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where every individual feels valued and respected. We believe that a diverse Board brings a wealth of perspectives and experiences that enhance our ability to serve our community effectively.
All members of our organization are expected to embrace and actively participate in our EDI initiatives. By joining our team you will be contributing to an environment that promotes equity respect and inclusion for all.
Current recruitment priorities includeindividuals withexperience in:
Affordable housing policy capital development or housing partnerships
Government relations or public policy
Senior nonprofit leadership (staff and/or Board)
Wesley recognizes that structural and systemic barriers shape peoples experiences and qualifications and the Board is committed to supporting new members through orientation training and mentoring. Please note that eligible candidates cannot be currently employed or employed within the last 3 years by Wesley or any of our affiliates.
Your Commitment
Board members are elected for a 3-year term. They may serve up to 2 consecutive terms and for a total of 6 years. Board members time commitments vary but typically include the following:
Preparation for and attendance at 6 pre-scheduled Board meetings per year
Preparation for and attendance at Board Committee meetings
Participation in Wesley Events
