Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory / Donor Care Specialist for a travel assignment in Hyannis MA. This role involves supporting donor services performing phlebotomy procedures and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards while delivering excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Perform donor screening to determine eligibility in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Conduct whole blood collections and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures.
Participate in both on-site and off-site blood collection drives.
Prepare label and handle blood components and specimens for testing.
Maintain accurate donor records documentation and data entry including deferrals.
Support donor recruitment and community outreach initiatives.
Monitor inventory and replenish donor care supplies as needed.
Obtain blood specimens from donors and patients following proper protocols.
Maintain a clean organized and sanitary work environment.
Adhere to all safety guidelines infection control standards and regulatory requirements.
Provide professional compassionate customer service to patients donors and staff.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Prior phlebotomy experience required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with computers and data entry systems.
Preferred Qualifications
National certification or completion of an accredited phlebotomy program.
Experience in donor services or blood bank collections.
Experience performing therapeutic phlebotomy.
Familiarity with regulatory standards such as CDC FDA AABB and CAP.
