Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Department: Pediatric Primary Care Location: Neptune NJ 07754 Schedule: Monday Friday Shift: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM Hours: 40 hours per week (8-hour shifts) Duration: 43 Weeks (Contract)
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support clinical and administrative functions in a pediatric primary care setting. This role works under the supervision of a licensed medical provider to ensure efficient operations and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment
Assist healthcare providers during patient exams and procedures
Record vital signs and document patient medical histories
Administer pediatric immunizations as required
Perform diagnostic tests such as EKG PFT and audiometry (as applicable)
Conduct phlebotomy urine drug screening (UDS) breath alcohol testing (BAT) and other lab procedures upon competency validation
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Perform medication reconciliation and assist with follow-up on lab/test results
Educate patients and families on preventive care and health maintenance
Support front-office duties including scheduling patient intake demographics and basic billing functions
Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations policies and patient confidentiality standards
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred)
Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (pediatrics preferred)
Proficiency in taking vital signs patient rooming and administering pediatric immunizations
Strong communication organizational and multitasking skills
Certifications & Licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) Required
One of the following certifications required:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA NHA NCCT or AAMA)
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA AMT or NAHP)
National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA AMCA)
