Job Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Assistant / Timekeeper to ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll processing for a large workforce. This role supports timely payroll operations compliance with policies and labor regulations and maintains high data accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Review and process employee timesheets ensuring accuracy and supervisor approvals
Monitor time entries missed punches overtime shift differentials and exceptions
Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and assist with corrections and adjustments
Support payroll processing including taxes garnishments and year-end activities
Track employee leave (sick vacation FMLA comp time) and update systems accordingly
Coordinate with HR and departments on leave and attendance issues
Maintain accurate payroll records and audit-ready documentation
Ensure compliance with internal policies labor agreements and regulations
Required Skills & Experience
12 years of payroll or timekeeping experience
Strong knowledge of payroll processes and timekeeping systems
Experience handling discrepancies and payroll audits
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook)
Strong attention to detail confidentiality and accuracy
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills
Experience with Oracle or PeopleSoft payroll systems
Familiarity with union/public sector payroll practices
Exposure to large workforce payroll environments
Knowledge of garnishments tax processing and year-end reporting
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Associates or Bachelors degree in HR Business Accounting or related field preferred
