The Department of Enrichment and Extended Learning and Special Education Department is responsible for the planning and oversight of afterschool vacation and summer learning opportunities that meet the unique needs and pathways of students attending Holyoke Public Schools. We believe that if we:
Identify the knowledge and skills needed for students to step up successfully and develop a project-based standards-aligned curriculum across all grade levels
Embed research best practices throughout every aspect of program design
Engage CBOs and other enrichment providers in planning and implementing bold innovative project-based and standards informed enrichment
Engage and support the best teachers through high-quality curriculum resources professional learning and ongoing observation and feedback
Involve and build relationships with students and families throughout the process
Holyoke Public Schools offers programming that reinforces skills learned during the school year that will strengthen as areas of growth while providing learners with a supportive environment for students to develop their academic and social emotional growth.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides first aid to children and care for students who have suffered an injury or medical emergency;
Dispenses prescribed medications in accordance with school policy and physician orders;
Performs medical treatments/procedures as indicated by the students health care providers and in accordance with district policies procedures and guidelines;
Maintains electronic health records IHCPs and EAPs and ensures proper documentation is in place for program attendance;
Maintains confidentiality as mandated by MA regulations;
Ensures the health well-being and day-to-day safety of all program participants;
Provides onsite services that may include prevention and emergency health services;
Performs other duties reasonably related to his/her function as assigned.
Other Duties as assigned by the Manager of Enrichment and Extended Learning or as required to support the Extended Learning Department.
Experience working with diverse student populations preferred
