Position Overview
The Director of Surgical Services will provide 24/7 leadership and operational oversight for the department ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient-centered care. This individual will play a key role in staff development clinical excellence and day-to-day surgical operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead mentor and develop surgical services staff including scheduling performance management and ongoing education
Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient workflow high-quality care and strong patient outcomes
Monitor and evaluate clinical performance ensuring adherence to physician orders and established care standards
Develop and implement departmental policies goals and process improvements
Participate in quality initiatives including infection control case management utilization review and performance improvement
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to support patient care and operational efficiency
Manage departmental budget including staffing and resource allocation
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and hospital standards
Address and resolve staff and patient concerns in a timely and professional manner
Qualifications
Current RN license (Texas or compact state)
Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred
Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in surgical services
Prior leadership or management experience required
BLS/CPR and ACLS required
Strong leadership presence with the ability to engage motivate and develop teams
