Description

The Sr. Academic Program Specialist will perform administrative duties supporting instruction including matters such as curriculum enhancement evaluating quality and methods of instruction researching and recommending revisions to existing course delivery maintaining degree requirements and serving as the graduation certifying officer course scheduling and space allocation and administrative oversight of policies and procedures for the unit.



Responsibilities

Leads the development of the semester course schedule (including entering course information into BANNER/OASIS) and oversees all classroom and space logistics to ensure seamless instructional delivery.

Manages all administrative processes related to thesis deliverables including tracking milestones coordinating submissions maintaining documentation and ensuring timely completion of all requirements aligned with program objectives.

Manages and streamlines the administrative processes that support continuous improvement of course delivery including coordinating learningdesign recommendations organizing revision workflows and ensuring that enhancements are accurately documented and implemented across all courses.

Provides administrative support to faculty for course delivery of Graduate Programs including LMS content layout Panopto recordings and textbook ordering. Assists faculty with preparation of course logistics grade submission course evaluations and inventory.

Administer academic policies and advise faculty and students on policy matters related to the academic program.

Supportsstudentsacademicprogressionthroughprocessingcoursepermitscreationof student files and manages all administrative requirements of graduation requirements including graduation certification.

Assist with the planning and delivery of Graduate Programs events (i.e. orientation informational sessions coffee and conversations series faculty/staff workshops etc). Support student organization advising effortsand assists in event planning.

Perform other administrative and analytical duties supporting the academic mission of the department college or unit.



Qualifications

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of administrative experience. At least one year of experience must involve administrative or program support duties in an academic department or college. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the general administrative experience. This educational substitution does not apply to required year of experience in an academic program.

Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelors degree.

SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required not to exceed:
(a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
(b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelors degree;
(c) Six years of direct experience for a masters degree;
(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure certification or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
