Essential Functions
Maintain assigned areas set forth by supervisor and/or manager.
This includes the cleaning of all floors offices clinical and non-clinical spaces halls common areas (including stairs) restroom facilities doorways and entrances immediately outside of assigned areas.
Sweep scrub refinish polish and strip floors using brooms mops and power scrubbing/swing machines and floor machines.
Clean carpets including vacuuming shampooing deodorizing and disinfecting.
Strip and remake beds; bundle soiled linen; clean guest/patient rooms and bathrooms; dust and sanitize flat surfaces; empty trash; vacuum sweep dry mop and wet mop rooms hallways stairways and other public areas; wash walls; move linens to and from drop-off locations.
Serve as a member of the MVH Storm/Disaster Team.
Be available to prepare for storms and assist with restoring normal operations as soon as possible after an event including relief and clean-up duties.
Shovel snow salt walkways operate snow blowers and sand driveways.
Assist with moving furniture and other contents between buildings and during office moves as required.
Keep equipment and workspace neat clean and safe (including storage areas and EVS closets).
Drive Hospital vehicle as needed.
Perform minor maintenance as required.
Lock/unlock doors and conduct security rounds.
Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
Always follow infection prevention protocols and standards.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Experience
Experience in environmental services or housekeeping preferred 0-1 year required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of various waste streams; Biological Hazardous General Sharps and Recycling waste streams and their respective collection points.
- Knowledge of departmental Fire Management Plan.
- Responds to fire alarms and assist Fire Department as required.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and high-quality customer service skills required.
