Senior Cloud Software Engineer

We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Cloud Software Engineer to join our team in Annapolis Junction Maryland.

What Youll Do

As a Senior Cloud Software Engineer you will design develop and maintain advanced Big Data and cloud-based systems supporting mission-critical operations. You will work with cutting-edge technologies in cloud computing distributed systems data processing and information retrieval.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and enhancing complex cloud and Big Data applications
• Designing and implementing scalable backend processing and analytics solutions
• Building Java-based applications and RESTful services
• Working with Hadoop ecosystem technologies and distributed computing frameworks
• Analyzing requirements and translating them into technical solutions
• Troubleshooting software issues and optimizing system performance
• Participating in software design testing and deployment activities
• Collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions

Required Skills:

• 8 years of Software Engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope and complexity
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Big Data Cloud Technologies or Distributed Computing
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)

Strong experience with:

• Java
• Object-Oriented Design & Programming
• RESTful Web Services
• Maven
• Hadoop Ecosystem Technologies (HDFS HBase MapReduce YARN ZooKeeper)
• Experience with Information Retrieval technologies such as Apache Solr Lucene or MongoDB
• Familiarity with processing large and diverse data formats including XML JSON CSV and Avro

Desired Skills:

• Python Bash Ruby or similar scripting languages
• Cloud infrastructure and virtualization technologies
• Multi-node system deployment and management
• Information Assurance and secure cloud application development
• Experience with enterprise authentication PKI and security best practices

Security Clearance Requirement:

• Current/Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.

The projected compensation range for this position is $185000.00-$215000.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate including but not limited to Contract Wage Determination relevant work experience skills and competencies that align to the specified role geographic location education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
