What Youll Do as a Human Service Worker
Provide direct supervision support and structure to adolescent boys (ages 1217) in a short-term crisis care setting
Create a safe stable and supportive environment for youth experiencing emotional behavioral and safety challenges
Assist with daily routines activities and skill-building to promote stability and positive behavior
Use de-escalation and behavior intervention techniques to support youth in crisis
Monitor youth safety including those experiencing suicidal ideation trauma-related behaviors or family conflict
Support intake processes including welcoming walk-ins and helping ensure safety and readiness for admission
Assist with medication management under supervision following proper protocols
Collaborate with therapists and team members to support individualized care and treatment goals
Maintain accurate documentation and communicate updates on youth behavior and progress
Build trusting supportive relationships with youth while encouraging growth accountability and resilience
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Valid drivers license
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to stay calm patient and grounded during challenging situations
Reliable team-oriented and eager to learn
Experience or education in mental/behavioral health is helpful but not required
Must pass a background check and meet WBH hiring standards
Spanish speakers may qualify for a wage increase
