As a Day Program Specialist / Direct Support Professional (DSP) youll play a vital role in empowering participants to reach their fullest potential-socially physically and emotionally-while ensuring their safety dignity and independence are always prioritized.
What Youll Do
Provide hands-on support with daily living activities including hygiene meals and mobility
Implement individualized program plans and engage participants in enriching activities
Foster a positive respectful and inclusive environment
Support community outings and meaningful social experiences
Maintain accurate documentation using agency systems
Assist with safe transportation of participants using agency vehicles
Respond calmly and effectively to behavioral or emergency situations
What Were Looking For
High school diploma or GED
Valid Connecticut drivers license with a clean driving record
Ability to obtain CPR First Aid AED and Medication Administration certifications
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Comfort using computers and basic software
A compassionate patient and reliable approach to care
Physical & Work Environment
This is an active hands-on role that includes:
Assisting with lifting transferring personal care/hygiene and mobility support
Frequent standing walking bending and reaching
Working in environments with varying noise levels and conditions
Attend community outings and events with indivduals
driving agency vehicles
Following safety sanitation and infection control protocols
