Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Labor & Delivery
Location: Syracuse NY
Duration: 19 Weeks
Shift: 12-Hour Shifts

Position Summary

A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery to provide high-quality patient care in an acute care setting. The RN will be responsible for supporting patients across Labor & Delivery Postpartum and Nursery units ensuring safe and effective care throughout the childbirth process.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in Labor & Delivery Postpartum and Nursery units
• Perform patient assessments and deliver care with minimal supervision
• Assist in and circulate Cesarean section procedures (scrubbing preferred)
• Monitor maternal and fetal conditions and respond to changes appropriately
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Deliver patient education and emotional support throughout the care process

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be current or eligible for recertification)
• Minimum 1.52 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience (within the past 2 years) in an acute care facility
• Experience working in hospitals of similar or larger size; trauma center experience is highly preferred for travelers
• Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States
• Ability to pass pre-employment health screening drug test and background check
• No history of license suspension investigation or professional liability claims

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Level 1 trauma hospitals
• Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records system
• Ability to scrub in for Cesarean section procedures

Experience Requirements (Text Format)

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery nursing (required)
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma hospital environment (highly desired)
• Hands-on experience with EPIC EMR system (highly desired)
• Active New York State RN license (required)
• Ability to scrub for C-section procedures (highly desired)
