Job Summary
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine Division of Endocrinology invites applications for a position as a full-time Associate or Full Professor without tenure by reason of funding on the Faculty-Scientist pathway. The anticipated start date is Spring 2026.
The successful applicant will establish and lead an independent and extramurally-funded research program and participate in teaching and mentoring graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. Scholarly focus will involve work in multi-omics integration and data science particularly in pediatric diabetes nephrology environmental health and obesity research. Qualified candidates will have adjunct appointments in the UW Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with existing and newly recruited investigators at Seattle Childrens Research Institute (SCRI) and the Department of Pediatrics as well as the larger UW scientific community and the Institute for Translational Health Sciences.
Associate and full Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching research and service.
As the second largest Department in the UW School of Medicine Pediatrics has twenty-one clinical divisions with approximately 1400 academic appointments including approximately 650 paid faculty members 134 residents 70 ACGME fellows 230 staff employees and over 600 volunteer/affiliate faculty and continues to grow each year. The Department of Pediatrics is a close affiliate of Seattle Childrens Hospital (SCH) and Seattle Childrens Research Institute (SCRI). Faculty members appointed in the Department are located at various institutions (including Seattle Childrens UW Medicine and FHCRC) and are part of the Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) clinical practice plan.
The base salary range for this position will be: Associate Professors with PhD $per month ($165000 - $216000) Professors with PhD $16667 - $27084 per month ($200004 - $325008 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations.
Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative duty supplement (ADS).
Compensation provided by Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Please see additional benefits that may be available: successful candidate will have earned a PhD or foreign equivalent in a relevant field by the time of appointment.
