Job Summary
Position Opening Temporary Childrens Library Assistant
Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons at the circulation desk processing materials issuing cards and verifying circulation information.
- Assists patrons in locating materials copying computer work etc. answers simple reference questions and refers customers to reference librarians.
- Answers telephone provides information and assists customers by phone.
- Collects fines for lost and damaged materials and reconciles records.
- Ensures materials on shelves are in the proper order promptly.
- Ensures there are proper supplies for the operation of the childrens library.
- Communicates with other staff members and functions as a team player.
- Maintains positive communication and rapport with staff customers and external organizations.
- Performs opening and closing duties.
- Performs other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Hours: 18 - 26hours/week
Shift flexibility required:
- Monday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
- Tuesday through Thursday 9:00 am - 2:00 pm Every 3rd Saturday 9:30 am - 5:00 pm
- Position expires 12/31/2026.
Hourly Wage:$16.37/hour

Desired Minimum Training and Experience
A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Excellent customer service skills and experience working with various software applications are also required.
