JOB DESCRIPTION

CHEO relies heavily on information technology to accomplish its mission of ensuring the best life for every child and youth. As a key member of the information technology (IT) support team you will be providing advanced level support (Level 3) for breadth of Microsoft Server services and specializing in Microsoft Windows Server and Domain Services with a focus on Identity and Access Management.

Key areas or responsibility include:

  • Perform a variety of system administration functions that would include the installation of operating systems databases applications and software patches establishing and monitoring backup and recovery procedures and perform any system reconfigurations resulting from various server assessments
  • Monitor the enterprise systems to ensure that adequate resources and optimized performance and uptime.
  • Active Directory Group Policy Access Control Domain Controller Multi-factor Authentication and Privileged Access Management.
  • Print and File System Management.
  • Private/Public Key Infrastructure Management
  • Managing Microsoft Entra ID
  • Writing and using PowerShell for day to day operations and administrative responsibilities
  • Ensure hardening of systems based on standards set out by Cyber Security Team.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of this technology to determine its suitability within our environment.
  • Develop detailed standard operating procedures and supporting documentation to facilitate the transfer of knowledge between various staff members.
  • Provide training to a variety of individuals having diverse technical or educational backgrounds
  • Assume project coordination responsibilities for projects related to the systems and networking support function
  • Assume other related responsibilities that may be assigned by department management

In addition to these responsibilities you will be provided opportunities to work with our technology experts and Leadership on a diverse set of initiatives to help improve our services.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Criminal Record Check (Essential)
  • University Degree or College Diploma in a discipline related to computer technology or equivalent applied experience combined with formal courses of instruction (Essential)
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in a technical support supplemented by various courses and certifications from recognized training organizations. (Essential)
  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Operating and Windows Domain Services. (Essential)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Essential)
  • Strong analytical and project coordination skills (Essential)
  • In depth knowledge of Active Directory Group Policy and Access Control Management (Essential)
  • Experienced PKI Administrator (Preferred)
  • Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Preferred)
  • Proficient in PowerShell scripting (Preferred)

Effective March 29 2021 CHEO will conduct a more comprehensive pre-screening and evaluation process. This process may include more varied and multidimensional testing such as a written test practical exam or other assessment. All candidates who meet the essential and preferred qualifications may be tested.
