We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The RN will be responsible for delivering step-down level care to adult and geriatric patients with complex medical and surgical conditions ensuring patient safety clinical excellence and effective care coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process (assessment planning implementation evaluation)
Monitor and manage patients requiring step-down/telemetry care
Perform cardiac monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias
Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid response/code teams
Administer medications including cardiac drips (non-titrated) and blood products
Manage oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway support
Provide central and peripheral line care IV therapy and phlebotomy
Maintain infection control and isolation precautions
Accurately document patient care and clinical data in EMR systems
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Float to other units within scope of practice as needed
Patient Population:
Adult and geriatric patients
Conditions include pulmonary disorders ENT surgeries and post-surgical cases requiring step-down care
Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific non-compact where applicable)
BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
NIHSS certification preferred
Minimum experience in PCU/Stepdown/Telemetry settings
Experience with EMR systems (Epic preferred)
