Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Registered Nurse for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The RN will be responsible for providing immediate post-operative care to patients recovering from anesthesia ensuring patient safety monitoring vital signs and managing pain and recovery progression.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and assess their condition
Manage airway breathing and circulation post-procedure
Administer medications and manage pain effectively
Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams for continuity of care
Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery
Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Key Details:
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year (PACU or critical care preferred)
Schedule: 5x8 Day shifts
Weekend Requirement: As per facility needs
On-Call Requirement: As per facility policy
Floating: May be required within scope
Required Qualifications:
Active RN License (state-specific requirement)
BLS Certification
ACLS Certification (commonly required for PACU roles)
Strong post-anesthesia or critical care experience
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR systems like Epic)
