We are seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician for a short-term assignment in a fast-paced outpatient eye care setting. The ideal candidate will assist physicians with clinical procedures perform diagnostic testing and help ensure efficient patient flow while delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preliminary eye examinations including:
Visual field testing
Tonometry
Color vision testing
Ocular motility assessments
Assist physicians during patient exams and procedures
Record and update patient medical and personal history
Prepare patients for examinations and treatments
Clean sterilize and maintain ophthalmic instruments
Operate and troubleshoot equipment such as:
Slit lamp
Tonometer
Keratometer
Coordinate lab work imaging and patient scheduling
Maintain exam room inventory and supplies
Provide patient education and reassurance
Assist with minor procedures and laser treatments
Required Qualifications:
Ophthalmic Technician Certification (required)
High School Diploma or GED
Prior experience working as an Ophthalmic Technician
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in outpatient eye care or specialty clinics
Key Competencies:
Strong attention to detail and patient care skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Technical proficiency with ophthalmic equipment
