Position Overview
A reputable healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide critical care services in the CVICU/ICU setting. This role involves managing high-acuity patients performing advanced clinical interventions and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
Deliver patient care using the nursing process (assessment planning implementation evaluation)
Administer medications and monitor patient responses
Provide care to critically ill patients in ICU and CVICU settings
Float between ICU CVICU and Med/Surg Tele units as needed
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
Support staff education and serve as a clinical resource
Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with safety infection control and facility policies
Utilize electronic health record systems and nursing informatics tools
Experience Requirements
Prior critical care experience required
CVICU experience required
Education
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Certifications & Licensure
Active Massachusetts RN license required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
Pharmacology exam (must pass prior to start)
Basic Arrhythmia exam (must pass prior to start)
Additional Requirements
Strong critical care and patient monitoring skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced high-acuity environment
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Flexibility to float across multiple units
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification
TCAR (Trauma Care After Resuscitation) certification
De-escalation training/certification
Experience with hemodynamic monitoring ventilator management and intracranial pressure monitoring
