Fr. Tolton Catholic High School in Columbia Missouri currently has an opening for the 2026-27 school year for a full-time Art teacher.
Responsibilities: -Teach art classes including various forms of media such as painting drawing digital media etc. -Inspire in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression using skills and techniques of artistic expression -Allow students to view mistakes as essential steps in the creative process and ensure all students feel welcomed and supported. -Explicitly teach students to reflect on their creative process assess their own work with the goal of becoming independent self-directed artists. -Utilize technology to impact student learning and increase communication -Demonstrate support for the mission of Fr. Tolton Catholic High School by attitude words actions and integrity -Assist in maintaining discipline throughout the student body in adherence to the Student Handbook -Possibility to sponsor coach or supervise extra-curricular activities -Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal
Qualification: -Minimum of a bachelors degree in related field -State teaching licensure/certificate is preferred but not a hiring prerequisite -Willing to work towards obtaining a teaching license -Familiarity with Google Suite (Gmail docs sheets etc) Google Classroom and RenWeb/FACTS is preferred -Understands the high school education culture and is able to interact professionally with students faculty and parents -Ability to maintain professionalism in challenging situations
Physical Demands and other requirements: -Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks such as computer keyboarding writing and reading -Required to monitor students in a variety of locations including those with noise and activity -Required to maintain composure and to communicate appropriately in words and actions
