Senior Product Owner

About the Role

The Senior Product Owner is responsible for defining stories and prioritizing the team backlog to streamline the execution of program priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the features or components for the team. This role bridges technical and business teams translating complex needs into actionable deliverables that drive product excellence and customer value.

Heres What Youll Do

• Refine and prioritize technical user stories including integration tasks and platform features; collaborate closely with the development team providing technical guidance; coordinate with business-side Product Owners to translate business needs into actionable technical deliverables
• Drive the creation of user stories for all team-level work; collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align stories to MVP; ensure stories have program-level alignment and that dependencies are effectively documented and communicated
• Work with internal stakeholders to continuously prioritize and refine the team backlog based on changing customer and business requirements; ensure alignment with program-level priorities and cross-team work items
• Regularly engage with customers partners and internal stakeholders to refine the MVP as needed; conduct quantitative and qualitative research to better address customer needs; identify and escalate risks and dependencies across teams
• Monitor schedules for all deliverables; continuously update stakeholders on team progress; raise awareness with leadership when delivery is at risk; ensure team-level and cross-program work is aligned with portfolio investment status
• Participate in internal industry and customer events; present or facilitate learning sessions; operate as an innovative thought leader contributing to department growth through knowledge sharing and coaching on current best practices and trends

Role Essentials

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience with proven ability to bridge technical and business teams translating complex technical concepts into actionable user stories for both developers and business-side stakeholders
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies with solid business and technology acumen
• Strong problem-solving critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to make sound timely decisions in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills with a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with discretion and tact across all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated ability to remain customer-focused while balancing company and product priorities; strong leadership presence with a proven ability to take software solutions to market

What Wed Like to See

• Experience working in Agile or SAFe environments with familiarity in backlog management and cross-team dependency tracking
• Proven ability to develop and deliver engaging informative and compelling presentations for internal and external audiences
• Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative customer research to refine product requirements and MVP definitions
• Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining alignment across cross-functional teams
• Experience participating in industry events and contributing thought leadership through coaching and knowledge sharing
