Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Accountant Technician to support complex accounting operations for a State agency. This position is responsible for maintaining and monitoring financial records performing reconciliations and handling specialized accounting transactions with a high level of independence. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge and experience working within complex financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and monitor accounting records across multiple accounts and systems
Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Process and adjust accounting entries as needed
Support budget tracking cost allocation and fund accounting activities
Assist with federal grant reporting and external financial reporting requirements
Utilize spreadsheets and accounting software for data analysis and reporting
Research and resolve accounting issues that require independent judgment
Supervise or provide guidance to lower-level accounting or clerical staff as needed

Qualifications:

Experience in accounting finance or a related field
Strong understanding of complex accounting functions and systems
Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software
Ability to analyze data identify issues and implement solutions
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
