Position: Pharmacy Intern
Location: Yorktown VA
Schedule: Per Diem
Compensation: $25 per hour

• Fills medication cassettes under the direct supervision of a pharmacist
• Prepares IV medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist
• Prints out and fills label requests for First does and Stat medications. All labels and medications are inspected by a pharmacist prior to being delivered.
• Fills Floor Stock and Controlled Substances requests under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Delivers supplies and medications to other departments as needed.
• Re-packages bulk forms of medications into unit dose packaging. Completes accompanying records which are then co-signed by the inspecting pharmacist.
• Orders unpacks and stores supplies. Ensures all items are verified against invoice before being stored.
• Compiles outdated medications through monthly inspection of Pharmacy and returns to appropriate vendor.
• Performs Quality Improvement activities as directed.
• Performs other duties as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an approved School of Pharmacy program at an accredited college
• Current State Board of Pharmacy Registration Certificate as a Pharmacy Intern required

Preferred Qualifications

• One to two years experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred
