Position Summary
The Lead Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for providing commercial quantity surveying and cost management support across the engineering procurement and module fabrication phases of the project.
Based within the EPC Contractors engineering office in Yokohama the role will support the management of project costs contractor performance variations change management payment assessments budgets and commercial reporting. The position will work closely with the Contracts Manager Project Controls Team Engineering Procurement and Fabrication stakeholders to ensure robust commercial governance and effective management of project financial exposure. This role is also requires expertise in quantity surveying principles contract administration valuation of work performed change management forecasting and commercial risk management across complex multi-location project environments.
The Lead Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in supporting informed commercial decision-making and ensuring that project costs commitments and contractual entitlements are accurately managed and reported throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead quantity surveying cost control and commercial management activities.
- Measure value and verify project progress contractor claims and payments.
- Manage change orders variations and commercial assessments.
- Support cost forecasting EAC/ETC and financial performance analysis.
- Monitor contractor supplier and module fabrication commercial performance.
- Assess claims commercial risks and contractual entitlements.
- Prepare commercial reports dashboards and governance documentation.
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to provide commercial guidance.

Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying Commercial Management Engineering or related field.
- 10-15 years quantity surveying/commercial experience on major EPC projects including 5 years in a senior role.
- Experience in LNG Oil & Gas Petrochemical or major energy projects.
- Strong knowledge of contract administration commercial management change control and cost management.

- Japanese language skills (advantageous)
Preferred Profile
- Experience with large LNG/modular EPC projects and fabrication programs.
- Strong capability in progress measurement payment certification commercial negotiations and claims assessment.
- Familiarity with integrated project controls and digital reporting solutions.
