Lead Engineer

As we further expand into Japan were looking for a Lead Engineer to take ownership of engineering and design delivery across our Japan data centre projects. Youll work closely with our Chief Development Officer and project teams to bring NEXTDCs design standards to life locally covering everything from site feasibility through to construction commissioning and handover.

This is a hands on individual contributor role with regular time on project sites ideal for someone who wants deep technical ownership rather than a purely oversight function.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Implementing and adapting NEXTDCs Engineering & Design standards for Japan projects including reviewing and approving any requested deviations
• Hands on engineering across all project stages from feasibility and site appraisal through to detailed design and tender specifications covering both mechanical and electrical services
• Adapting design scopes briefs and executive summaries for project specific appointments and engaging and managing design consultants
• Ensuring designs comply with Japanese laws and codes (Building Standards Act Fire Service Act Electricity Business Act) and coordinating with authorities and utility providers
• Managing and witnessing commissioning on site working alongside the independent commissioning agent
• Providing customer engineering support and managing Project Board submissions while collaborating with our Engineering & Design Centre of Excellence to drive standardisation

本ポジションは現場プロジェクトサイトへでの定期的な訪問を伴う実務を中心とする個人貢献者ICポジションでありプロジェクトの現場に定期的に足を運んでいただきますす単なる監督業務ではなく技術面で深く責任を持って取り組みたい方に適した職務です

主な職務内容:

• 日本のプロジェクト向けにNEXTDCのエンジニアリング設計基準を導入適用し当社基準から逸脱する要望についてレビューおよび承認を担当
• フィージビリティスタディ候補地の評価から詳細設計入札仕様書の作成まで機械設備電気設備の両分野にわたりプロジェクトの全段階で実務的なエンジニアリングを担当
• プロジェクトごとの案件に合わせた設計スコープの策定設計要件書の作成エグゼクティブサマリーの調整並びに設計コンサルタントの選定マネジメントを担当
• 建築基準法消防法電気事業法などの日本の法令規制に対する設計の適合を確保し行政機関や電力インフラ事業者との調整を担当
• 独立コミッショニングエージェントと連携し現地での試運転の管理立会いを担当
• 顧客に対するエンジニアリング支援業務の提供プロジェクトボードメンバーへの提出物の管理および標準化推進のためのエンジニアリングデザインセンターオブエクセレンスCoEとの連携を担当

Qualifications :

• Extensive hands on experience delivering data centre projects across all stages of mission critical 24/7 facilities
• Knowledge of Japanese codes standards and approval processes for data centre design and construction
• Experience working with Japanese design consultants contractors and authorities having jurisdiction
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate engineering principles clearly and manage detail heavy deliverables
• Native level Japanese communication skills (written and verbal) and business level English
• Professional Engineer registration (Gijutsushi) or equivalent desirable
