DESCRIPTION

Join our sales team at Thermo Fisher Scientific and contribute to helping customers make the world healthier cleaner and safer. As an Account Manager II you will develop and maintain direct customer relationships with semiconductor electronics and related customers in Japan while driving sales growth within an assigned area. Youll work directly with customers in the semiconductor and electronics sectors leveraging our industry-leading portfolio of advanced analytical instruments including electron microscopes FIB (Focused Ion Beam) systems and electrical failure analysis equipment. This role offers excellent career growth potential in a supportive environment where youll be valued and rewarded for your performance.

You will develop strategic sales plans conduct customer visits provide product demonstrations and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities through direct sales activities managing pricing and profitability maintaining accurate sales records and serving as a trusted technical advisor to customers. Youll also monitor market trends gather competitive intelligence and represent Thermo Fisher professionally at industry events.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree or higher required; all academic backgrounds welcome (science engineering liberal arts etc.)
  • Valid drivers license
  • Strong technical aptitude with demonstrated ability to learn complex product applications and workflows
  • Excellent communication presentation and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
  • Professional business etiquette and customer-facing skills
  • Strong communication practices including timely reporting coordination and consultation with management and team members
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong territory management and strategic account planning capabilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for developing effective sales strategies
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a matrix environment
  • Location flexibility: Position is not limited to the Tokyo area; candidates in locations with easy access to major cities are welcome. Must be able to travel to Tokyo headquarters as needed
  • Ability to travel up to 70% within assigned territory; international travel may be required
  • Basic English communication skills required; additional language skills are a plus
  • Good health and physical condition to meet the demands of the role

  • Candidates with experience in analytical instrument sales technical sales or semiconductor manufacturing (design verification analysis inspection) are particularly well-suited for this role
