About the Role
We are seeking a highly capable hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead our software engineering function while remaining deeply involved in the design development delivery and execution of technology initiatives. This is not a purely managerial role. The successful candidate must be a hands-on technical leader who can roll up their sleeves solve problems make decisions independently and take ownership of projects from concept through completion. The ideal candidate is someone who has a proven track record of getting things done operating with urgency taking initiative removing obstacles and delivering high-quality results with minimal supervision.
A strong and demonstrable background in Artificial Intelligence (AI) is essential. The successful candidate should understand how AI can be practically applied to products business processes automation and software solutions and should be capable of working directly with engineering teams to deliver AI-enabled solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Software Engineering Leadership
- Lead mentor and manage software engineers while maintaining hands-on involvement in technical delivery.
- Provide technical direction architectural guidance and engineering leadership.
- Participate directly in software design coding code reviews debugging testing and deployment when required.
- Establish and maintain high engineering standards development practices and quality controls.
- Translate business requirements into practical scalable technology solutions.
- Ensure engineering projects are delivered on time within scope and to the required quality standards.
AI & Technology
- Lead the identification evaluation and implementation of AI-powered solutions across products and business processes.
- Apply AI machine learning generative AI automation and related technologies to solve real business problems.
- Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI-driven efficiency automation and innovation.
- Evaluate AI tools platforms APIs and technologies and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Guide engineers in integrating AI capabilities into applications and workflows.
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies and identify practical opportunities for implementation.
### End-to-End Project Delivery
- Take ownership of technology initiatives from requirements gathering through design development testing deployment and post-launch support.
- Develop project plans timelines milestones and delivery priorities.
- Identify risks dependencies technical challenges and potential delivery issues early.
- Remove roadblocks and take decisive action to keep projects moving.
- Coordinate with Product Operations Business Development and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
- Ensure that deliverables are fully completed rather than simply reaching partial implementation.
Reporting & Performance Management
- Provide clear and timely reporting on project status deliverables risks milestones and resource requirements.
- Establish engineering KPIs and track team and project performance.
- Prepare management reports and technology updates for senior leadership.
- Clearly communicate technical issues and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate documentation of projects systems processes and technical decisions.
Team Leadership
- Recruit develop coach and motivate software engineering team members.
- Set clear expectations priorities and accountability standards.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback.
- Build a culture of ownership accountability innovation collaboration and execution.
- Ensure team members have the tools resources and support required to deliver effectively.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering Information Technology or a related field.
- 2 years of professional software engineering/development experience with significant technical leadership experience.
- Proven experience managing or leading software engineering teams.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with modern software development.
- Strong proven expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) including practical implementation of AI solutions.
- Experience taking software projects through the full end-to-end development lifecycle.
- Strong experience with software architecture APIs databases cloud technologies and modern development methodologies.
- Proven experience delivering multiple technology projects successfully.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum or similar software development methodologies.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong reporting documentation and project management capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Generative AI LLMs AI agents machine learning or intelligent automation.
- Experience integrating AI APIs and third-party technology platforms.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud.
- Experience with DevOps CI/CD containerization and automated testing.
- Experience building scalable secure production-grade applications.
- Experience in AI automation or business process automation.
