Job Summary

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria Virginia and Orlando Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning design infrastructure management technical consulting engineering and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army Air Force Navy Marine Corps) missions along with other US federal agencies all over the world.

We are seeking an experiencedDesign Architect that will supportsupport Resident Officer in Charge of Construction (ROICC). You will provide architectural design services coordinate multidisciplinary projects and ensure designs comply with DoD Navy applicable codes standards and project requirements.

This position is contingent upon contract award of the contract. If awarded the anticipated period of performance will be approximately five years with six months potential extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide architectural design services for new construction and renovation projects in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Plan develop and coordinate architectural designs for multi-disciplinary/trade vertical and horizontal construction projects.
  • Review and develop technical engineering drawings Statements of Work (SOWs) and contract modifications.
  • Coordinate architectural requirements with related engineering disciplines and assess their impact on project design.
  • Apply DoD and Navy design criteria guide specifications policies IBC NFPA 101 and applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable local state federal and host nation laws codes and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor project design activities to ensure successful and timely completion within schedule and budget.
  • Prepare technical reports progress updates and recommendations for Government personnel.
  • Use architectural design drafting analysis and project management software to develop and manage design deliverables.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture earned through completion of a course of studies accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) or international equivalent supplemented by substantial hands-on facilities design experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of professional architectural code-compliant facilities design experience for new construction including renovation design on U.S. Department of Defense or similar government agency projects.
  • Knowledge of related architectural and engineering fields and their associated impacts on architectural design.
  • Ability to read write and speak fluent English (CEFR C1 level preferred minimum B2).
  • Must successfully pass required security background investigations.
