Job Description:

As such Direct Medics are working in partnership with a client based in the Dublin 4 area to find an experienced and dedicated Senior Ultrasonographer for a 6-9 month period.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

To organise/supervise/perform ultrasound examinations according to any protocols provided and to supervise other staff as appropriate

To assist in the daily operational management of the services

To maintain high standards of patient care technique and safety

To keep abreast of and embrace where appropriate current techniques and developments particularly in relation to PACS/IT.

To assist in the education and training of staff as appropriate as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students and encourage professional development

To adhere to all Health & Safety Guidelines and all Whole Hospital and Department PPGs.

To be observant in relation to equipment faults and errors and to report all defects or occurrences to Clinical Specialist Radiographer or Radiography Service Manager.

To participate in Clinical Audit and Quality Improvement Programmes as required

To attend relevant post-graduate courses and to undertake/assist with research projects

To adhere to the professional guidelines laid down by the Irish Institute of Radiographers and Radiation Therapists (IIRRT).

To perform any other duties in the Radiology Department or its satellites deemed appropriate to the grade by the Radiography Service Manager

The post holder may be required from time to time to deputise for a Clinical Specialist Radiographer

Requirements:

• CORU registered Radiographer

• Postgraduate qualification in Ultrasound

• Have 3 years fulltime (or an aggregate of 3 years) post qualification clinical experience (UK/ROI)

• Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

• Full ROI drivers license and access to a car

• Right to live and work in the UK/Ireland without VISA sponsorship
