Staff Nurse – Cath Lab
Job Summary
- Adhere to established policies and procedures when developing and implementing personalised care plans for newly admitted patients.
- Provide nursing care and interventions to allocated patients in accordance with their individualised medical and nursing care plans.
- Carry out admission discharge and patient transfer procedures in line with organisational protocols.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide appropriate support to other members of the healthcare team.
- Follow medical orders and instructions for assigned patients ensuring all treatments and medications are administered safely and effectively.
- Monitor patients closely and promptly report any changes in their condition to the nurse in charge and relevant medical staff.
- Collect and document comprehensive patient information nursing histories assessments and nursing diagnoses.
Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
Minimum 2 years post-registration nursing experience in an acute care setting
Essential experience in Cardiac Cath Lab including:
Care of angiography patients
Care of patients undergoing implantable cardiac device procedures
Pharmacology
Rhythm recognition
Post-PCI care
Non-invasive coronary angiography (CTCA)
ACLS qualification desirable or willingness to undertake the course
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good IT skills
