Creditsafe are expanding their Consumer Bureau team an exciting new project aiming to have us enter the Consumer Credit Bureau space in the United Kingdom and eventually become a fully-fledged Consumer Reporting Agency. THE TEAM

This opportunity is to join an Agile team of Software Data and Quality engineers who are responsible for two - one productionized and one upcoming big data projects. These projects process hundreds of GB a day in massive ELTL ingest person-centric matching and sub-second-serving batch and near-real-time processes.

YOUR ROLE

As a Senior SE youd play a key role in developing and enhancing our Data Ingestion orchestration transformation and deployment layers owning batchand near-real-time serving via API and backend is a greenfield project in its infancy with a long term ambitious roadmap and direct measurable client reach and satisfaction.

This is a hybrid position requiring attendance in the office for 50% of the working week in line with our hybrid work policy.

• Cross-team decisions.Partner with two or three engineering teams Product and DataAnalyticsto make the right technical trade-offs especially the ones no single team can make alone.

WHAT YOU BRING

Must-haves

• Deep experience building and running production systems in Python on AWS typically 8 years of engineering with at least a couple of those operating at a Senior/Leadscope.

• A track record of leading systemsnot just features. You can point to platforms or services you designed whose decisions still hold up under load change and time.

• Strong judgement on trade-offs. Cost vs. latency build vs. buy consistency vs. availability velocity vs. debt and you can explain your reasoning in a room of non-engineers.

• Demonstrable technical influencein yourteams. RFCs guildstech-demosshared libraries architecture forums something that shows your reach.

• A mentoring habit. Named engineers whose careers moved because of your input. You already enjoy this work.

• Excellent written communication. Your docs RFCs and postmortems teach people things. This matters as much as your code.

Nice to have

Deep AWS data-platform chops: Glue AthenaMWAA ECS/EKSIceberg/Parquet lakehouse patterns.

High-throughput serverless design with auditability and exactly-once semantics.

Financial credit or regulated-data background.
