Senior Grade Cardiac Physiologist
Job Summary
- Perform and interpret a range of non-invasive cardiac investigations including Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography ECGs Holter monitoring ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and exercise stress testing.
- Assist with and support invasive cardiac procedures within the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory as required.
- Ensure the accurate acquisition analysis reporting and documentation of diagnostic test results.
- Provide high-quality patient care maintaining patient safety dignity and confidentiality at all times.
- Operate maintain and troubleshoot specialised cardiology equipment ensuring compliance with quality assurance and safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with cardiologists nurses physiologists and multidisciplinary team members to support effective patient management.
- Participate in the development implementation and review of clinical protocols policies and best practice guidelines.
- Supervise mentor and support junior physiologists students and other staff members as appropriate.
- Contribute to service planning audit activities quality improvement initiatives and accreditation requirements.
- Maintain professional competence through continuing professional development (CPD) training and participation in relevant educational activities.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies professional standards and all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Participate in departmental meetings service development projects and research activities where appropriate.
- Hold a BSc in Clinical Measurement Science a Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Have a minimum of three years of post-qualification experience in a relevant clinical setting.
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
- Demonstrate technical competence in Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography and/or Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (Cath Lab) procedures.
- British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) accreditation is desirable.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently take initiative and assume a high level of professional responsibility.
Required Skills:
