The Role
The Python ETL Developer / Data Engineer plays a key role in designing developing and maintaining scalable data integration solutions that support business reporting analytics and operational processes. This role focuses on building robust ETL pipelines using Python and SQL to extract transform validate and load data from a wide range of structured and semi-structured sources including databases files APIs and web-based sources.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing efficient data processing workflows using Python libraries such as Pandas NumPy PyODBC and SQLite while ensuring data quality integrity and performance. The role requires strong database knowledge and hands-on experience working with relational database platforms such as SQL Server Oracle and MySQL.
The position involves collaborating with business stakeholders architects and technical teams to understand data requirements and deliver reliable data solutions. The candidate will also support testing deployment issue resolution and continuous improvement of data pipelines while following industry best practices for coding version control and data engineering.

Your responsibilities:
- Develop maintain and optimize ETL pipelines using Python and SQL.
- Extract data from multiple sources including CSV Excel JSON XML APIs web URLs and relational databases.
- Perform data cleansing validation transformation enrichment aggregation and filtering using Python Pandas and related libraries.
- Load processed data into relational databases and output formats such as CSV Excel and JSON.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries stored procedures and database scripts to support data integration and reporting requirements.
- Implement logging exception handling reconciliation processes and data quality checks within ETL solutions.
- Support unit testing system testing deployment activities and production issue resolution.
- Collaborate with business users architects and technical teams to understand and implement data requirements.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards data governance principles and best practices for data engineering.
- Utilize Git/GitHub for source control and version management.
- Contribute to performance tuning and continuous improvement of data processing solutions.
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- 58 years of experience in Data Engineering ETL Development or related data integration roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python 3.x.
- Proficiency in Python libraries including Pandas NumPy PyODBC and SQLite.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in query optimization and database development.
- Experience in designing developing and supporting ETL/Data Ingestion solutions.
- Hands-on experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server Oracle and MySQL.
- Strong understanding of data cleansing transformation validation and reconciliation techniques.
- Good knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts and data integration best practices.
- Experience using Git/GitHub for source code management.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Experience with Data Warehousing and Dimensional Modeling concepts.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization of data processing solutions.
- BFSI domain experience preferred.
- Exposure to cloud-based data platforms and modern data engineering practices is an advantage.
