Procurement Manager Sustainability, Data Center Service Procurement
Job Summary
We are currently seeking a procurement professional to join our Data Centre Services Procurement team. This role will focus on identifying and developing strategic sustainability procurement opportunities onboarding sustainable construction services and materials suppliers in multiple regions to build out our supplier base and manage Amazon sustainability initiatives within procurement teams to support Amazons net zero carbon goal.
Our team of Senior Procurement Managers are skilled in sustainability and supply chain with analytical and financial acumen. They dive-deep into processes used in our data center services procurement and lead supplier sustainability programs reducing greenhouse gas emissions throughout supply chains and devising sustainability and carbon reduction strategies.
They are charged with creating/supporting sustainable supply chain and sourcing plans supporting procurement partners and teams to create sustainable sourcing strategies and plans focused on sustainable deliverables and then quickly delivering results that enable internal teams to meet schedules and deliverables. They identify new ways to forge partnerships with existing/new suppliers evaluate suppliers performance against clearly defined metrics and balance priorities of both Amazon and our suppliers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes while driving sustainability efficiency reducing risk and costs for Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
Identifying viable sustainability focused construction services suppliers in multiple regions to support Amazon Sustainability targets and programs through customer & business partner collaboration and market research.
Negotiating contract terms with suppliers and creating mechanisms to help them understand Amazons business and sustainability requirements.
Establishing sustainability focused supplier sourcing strategies and timelines that address specifics of each region including local language ease of doing business with suppliers in-market existing supplier availability existing sustainable profiling in regions etc. and then acting as a project manager to drive the strategies to completion.
Working with AWS suppliers to collect sustainability and environmental data for materials and equipment and leading programs to reduce carbon impact of AWS data centre construction.
Develop and produce sustainability tracking reports showing supply chain sustainability efforts Supply Chain Standards compliance and progress against CO2e reduction initiatives.
Managing all aspects of the relationship with qualified suppliers for RFPs and RFQs on sustainability and specific sustainability projects (competitive bidding).
Communicating frequently and professionally with internal customers and stakeholders on the status of sustainability sourcing and procurement strategies and activities.
Developing and leading supplier- and customer- focused trainings on sustainability targets and programs that enable them to partner more closely with your business unit.
Establishing key internal sustainability metrics and utilizing them to monitor and improve performance against business objectives and to make informed business decisions.
Driving Business reviews with our internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Driving process improvement initiatives that positively impact customers stakeholders and the team.
Creating procedures and tools and simplifying those that already exist.
*Please note that this role requires upwards of 15% international travel

About the team
The EMEA DCSP team supports the procurement of mission critical construction services supporting the construction of AWS datacentres and power projects across the region. The team delivers through driving efficiency value capacity and sustainability for the business.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design planning delivery and operation of all AWS global other words were the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers storage networking power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and were looking for talented people who want to help.

- Experience developing tools reports process maps scorecards and data visualizations that improve upon those currently employed for understanding the business and making decisions
- Experience in a procurement organization performing vendor management contract management negotiating complex purchases and bidding
- Experience in construction or experience in vendor management
- Experience in negotiations with global suppliers with a proven track record in cost reduction
- Experience in program project product management or leading a product implementation process
- Experience in data centers infrastructure service providers or related technology companies
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel Pivot Tables macros SQL visualization tools - Tableau Quicksight etc.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma tools Lean techniques PMP or similar standards preferred
- Experience in vendor negotiation and management for data center or upgrade construction contracts or experience in operations and on-call support for data center facilities mission critical plants or production facilities
