Overhead Line Network Designer Permanent Full-Time Dublin Cork or Kerry (Ireland & UK projects)
We are partnering with a leading utility contractor to recruit an Overhead Line Network Designer for their expanding Design Department working on electrical infrastructure projects across Ireland and the UK.
This is a permanent role combining office and site-based work suited to professionals from a range of backgrounds grid construction (overhead or underground) land surveying project management or civil structural or mechanical engineering who bring solid experience in their discipline. Office duties can be based across three regional offices and as the business operates nationwide regular travel in a company vehicle is required with occasional overnight stays.
What youll be doing
On-site stakeholder negotiations including land access and liaison with landowners and members of the public
Distribution overhead line grid design (or a detailed understanding of same) GPS surveying and setting out
Feasibility and progress reporting compilation of Health & Safety documentation and quality assurance checks on constructed works
Implementation of ISO 9001 ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 procedures across project activities
What were looking for
Relevant industry experience in grid construction land surveying project management or civil/structural/mechanical engineering (hands-on experience carries significant weighting)
Familiarity with ESB Networks design and construction standards essential
Knowledge of the overhead line industry a distinct advantage
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to represent the business professionally to landowners and the public
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel; strong IT skills
Self-motivated flexible and comfortable working both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Full driving licence (regular nationwide travel required)
