Assistant Director of Nursing
Job Summary
Promote a warm homely and person-centred environment that respects residents privacy dignity rights and confidentiality.
Provide compassionate respectful and non-judgmental care recognising each residents individuality life history preferences and emotional needs.
Encourage meaningful social interaction and daily activities by creating opportunities that promote engagement independence enjoyment and a sense of belonging.
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary care team recognising and utilising the skills and abilities of colleagues to enhance residents wellbeing.
Adapt care approaches to meet individual needs remaining flexible and responsive to residents changing circumstances rather than focusing solely on routine.
Support the Director of Nursing/PIC in providing clinical and professional leadership to the care team and in delivering high-quality direct resident care.
Monitor and supervise the delivery of care within Nursing Home promoting resident safety quality standards and continuous improvement in care practices.
Nursing qualification with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) is essential.
Minimum 3 years post-registration experience in nursing older people within the previous 6 years.
Minimum 3 years management experience within the health and social care sector.
Strong knowledge of clinical nursing practice and current and emerging trends in older person care.
Post-registration management qualification in health or a related discipline.
Strong leadership communication and team management skills.
Previous Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) experience is desirable.

Required Skills:
Nursing qualification with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) is essential.
