Job Role
The PKS Procurement & Trading Manager is responsible for leading the procurement sourcing business development and trading activities for Palm Kernel Shell (PKS) and other biomass fuel products.
This role focuses on developing strategic supplier and customer relationships managing international trading activities monitoring market trends and ensuring smooth execution of procurement and supply chain operations. The successful candidate will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve commercial objectives while maintaining efficient and reliable trading operations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop new business opportunities for PKS and other biomass fuel products.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers processors traders and industrial customers.
Manage end-to-end procurement sourcing and trading activities to achieve business targets.
Negotiate commercial terms pricing contracts and supply agreements with business partners.
Monitor biomass market trends pricing movements industry developments and competitor activities.
Coordinate logistics shipping quality inspections documentation and payment processes to ensure successful transaction execution.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues throughout the procurement and supply chain process.
Analyze market opportunities and recommend strategies to support business growth.
Prepare commercial reports forecasts and market intelligence for management.
Candidate Requirements
Bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain International Trade Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience in commodity trading procurement or biomass fuel trading.
Hands-on experience with Palm Kernel Shell (PKS) biomass fuels wood pellets or similar commodities is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of international trade practices including Incoterms Letters of Credit (L/C) shipping logistics and export-import documentation.
Experience managing suppliers and customers across Southeast Asia is an advantage.
Good understanding of biomass fuel quality specifications commercial standards and customer requirements.
Strong negotiation business development analytical and problem-solving skills.
Professional working proficiency in English is required.
Mandarin language skills are an advantage but not mandatory.
Willing to travel for business when required.
