Job Summary
- Operate the crane safely and efficiently to complete lifting activities without incidents injuries or equipment damage.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections and ensure the crane is maintained in a safe working condition at all times.
- Execute lifts according to approved lift plans load charts method statements and site safety requirements.
- Achieve 100% compliance with company HSE policies regulatory standards and permit-to-work requirements.
- Coordinate effectively with riggers signalmen supervisors and lifting teams to ensure safe lifting operations.
- Monitor load weights ground conditions and crane configurations to prevent overloading and unsafe operating conditions.
- Minimize equipment downtime by promptly reporting defects abnormal conditions and maintenance requirements.
- Protect company assets by ensuring proper crane operation housekeeping and care of lifting accessories.
- Maintain accurate operational records inspection checklists and daily equipment reports.
- Support project productivity goals by completing lifting activities safely on schedule and in accordance with project requirements.
Responsibilities
- Operate the 400-ton crawler crane safely and efficiently in accordance with approved lift plans load charts and site procedures.
- Perform daily pre-start inspections and routine operational checks of the crane and associated equipment.
- Ensure crane configuration counterweights boom length and lifting attachments are correctly set up for each lifting operation.
- Verify load weights lifting radii and ground conditions before commencing lifts.
- Coordinate closely with riggers signalmen lifting supervisors and site management during lifting activities.
- Follow all HSE requirements permit-to-work systems and company safety policies.
- Monitor crane performance and immediately report defects malfunctions or unsafe conditions.
- Ensure safe lifting positioning and placement of heavy equipment structural components and other loads.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections operations fuel usage and maintenance requirements.
- Assist with crane assembly disassembly mobilization and demobilization activities when required.
- Stop operations immediately when unsafe conditions adverse weather or potential hazards are identified.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards around the crane work area.
- Protect company assets by operating equipment responsibly and preventing damage to personnel property and equipment.
- Participate in toolbox talks safety meetings and training programs.
- Comply with all applicable regulatory requirements and industry lifting standards.
Qualifications
- Valid Crane Operator License/Certification recognized by local regulatory authorities.
- Certified and authorized to operate crawler cranes up to 400-ton capacity
- Valid Heavy Equipment Operator certification (where required).
- Possession of applicable safety certifications (e.g. HSE Working at Heights Basic First Aid) is an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating crawler cranes on construction industrial oil & gas shipyard or infrastructure projects.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of proven experience operating large-capacity crawler cranes (200T to 400T or above).
- experience in lifting heavy and critical loads using approved lift plans. Familiarity with crane assembly dismantling mobilization and demobilization activities
- Thorough understanding of crane load charts lifting capacities and crane configurations.
- Knowledge of lifting operations rigging practices and signaling procedures.
- Ability to interpret lift plans method statements and engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of HSE requirements and safe lifting practices.
- Ability to identify lifting hazards and stop work when unsafe conditions exist.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically fit and able to work in demanding site environments.
- Strong safety record and commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to work extended hours shifts and weekends when required.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project schedules.
- Medically fit for crane operation duties.
