Assistant Housekeeping Manager
Job Summary
**Responsibilities:**
- Assist the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing all daily housekeeping operations and staff management
- Supervise and coordinate housekeeping staff to ensure efficient completion of cleaning tasks and room turnover
- Conduct quality inspections of guest rooms common areas and back-of-house spaces to maintain established cleanliness standards
- Manage housekeeping inventory including supplies linens and equipment and coordinate reordering as needed
- Train mentor and develop housekeeping team members on proper cleaning procedures safety protocols and guest service standards
- Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and optimal operational efficiency
- Address guest complaints and concerns related to housekeeping services and implement corrective actions
- Maintain detailed records and reports on room status maintenance issues and staff performance
- Coordinate with maintenance and engineering departments to address facility repairs and equipment issues
- Ensure compliance with health safety and sanitation regulations and company policies
- Support budget management by monitoring labor costs and controlling supply expenses
- Assist in implementing new cleaning procedures technologies and best practices to enhance operational efficiency
Qualifications :
**Qualifications:**
**Required:**
- Minimum 2 years of housekeeping operations or hotel management experience
- Proven experience managing housekeeping operations for properties with 250 rooms
- Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of housekeeping standards cleaning procedures and sanitation protocols
- Proficiency in housekeeping management software and inventory systems
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels and resolve conflicts professionally
- Physical ability to perform housekeeping duties and walk through properties regularly
**Preferred:**
- Associates degree or certification in hospitality management or related field
- Experience with budget management and cost control in housekeeping operations
- Familiarity with health safety and sanitation regulations (OSHA compliance)
- Knowledge of green cleaning practices and sustainable housekeeping initiatives
- Experience training and developing housekeeping staff
- Proficiency in multiple languages
- Previous experience in a luxury or upscale hotel environment
