Sr. Product Manager Tech, Online Merchants, Amazon Pay

Amazon Pay is reimagining how hundreds of millions of Indian consumers pay across the internet. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager - Tech to lead the Online Merchants product charter within Amazon Pay this role you will own the product strategy and roadmap for scaling Amazon Pay as the preferred payment partner for online merchants serving Indias affluent digital-first customer base.

You will drive two interconnected missions: (1) grow Amazon Pays presence across Indias top online merchants (food delivery quick-commerce travel digital content D2C) by building category-leading payment experiences and SDK capabilities and (2) pioneer Amazon Pays entry into Agentic Commerce - enabling AI-native payment experiences for conversational commerce platforms and large language model-based shopping agents.

This is a high-impact high-ambiguity role at the intersection of payments merchant platform strategy and emerging AI commerce. You will work across engineering business development fraud/risk and external partners (major merchants AI platforms global protocol consortiums) to define what the future of payments looks like in an agent-driven world.

Key job responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap (Online Merchants):
Own the end-to-end product vision and quarterly roadmap for Amazon Pays Online Merchant vertical covering payment experience merchant selection and revenue growth.
Define and drive the strategy for payment CX innovations (checkout experiences smart wallet instrument-level recommendations) that improve transaction success rates and customer retention.
Identify and prioritize new merchant categories and integration channels (aggregators TSPs D2C platforms) to expand Amazon Pays addressable selection.
Own SDK and developer experience strategy reducing merchant integration time and driving self-service adoption.

Agentic Commerce:
Define and execute Amazon Pays strategy for AI-native commerce - enabling payments within conversational AI platforms voice assistants and LLM-based shopping agents.
Drive partnerships and protocol integration with global AI platforms and open payment protocol consortiums.
Work with internal teams (Alexa international payments) and external platforms to build payment handler capabilities that support India-specific payment methods (UPI Pay Later wallet) in agentic flows.

Cross-Functional Leadership:
Partner with engineering teams to deliver complex multi-quarter product initiatives on time and at quality.
Collaborate with business development on merchant negotiations commercial terms and go-to-market motions.
Work with fraud/risk teams to balance growth with responsible scaling (2FA device binding fraud controls).
Influence senior leadership with data-driven narratives trade-off frameworks and clear prioritization rationale.

A day in the life
Your mornings might start with reviewing overnight payment success metrics from your top merchants identifying any MSR (Merchant Success Rate) dips and coordinating triage with engineering. Mid-morning you lead a sprint planning session with your dev team on the next phase of the bottomsheet payment experience rollout to a new merchant cohort.

After lunch you join a cross-team working session with Amazons international payments team and an external AI platform to align on payment protocol requirements for India-specific instruments. You follow that with a deep-dive into fraud risk controls for your Pay Later product expansion working with the risk science team to set thresholds that balance customer conversion with fraud prevention.

By end of day you are writing a 1-pager for leadership proposing a new strategic merchant integration laying out the customer opportunity technical feasibility and revenue case. Your stakeholders include engineering managers principal engineers BD leaders data scientists and senior PMs across Amazon Pay and partner organizations.

The Amazon Pay Online Merchants team is responsible for building Amazon Pays presence beyond the Amazon ecosystem - powering payments at Indias leading internet companies across food delivery quick-commerce travel entertainment and D2C. We serve millions of monthly active users and work with dozens of top-tier merchants.

- Bachelors degree
- 7 years of product or program management product marketing business development or technology experience
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience managing technical products or online services
- Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

- Experience in using analytical tools such as Tableau Qlikview QuickSight
- Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools
