Software Development Manager, Alexa Growth

Alexa Growth organizations mission is to enable Alexa engagement depth and breadth by focusing on C/WAA (Conversations per Weekly Active Account) and #asks/WAA. We drive acquisition of new customers and deepen engagement of existing ones through horizontal cross-functional initiatives end-to-end experience optimization and rigorous high-tempo experimentation worldwide across paid and free tiers. We are under the broader Alexa Core Experiences org and are looking for a Software Development Manager based out of our Hyderabad office.

Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Manager in Alexa Growth you will be responsible for directly managing a team of engineers for ensuring that their work is delivered on time and at a high quality and for making technical decisions from software architecture to operational excellence. You will ensure your features can scale to support Alexa in a variety of languages and across the wide range of devices on which Alexa is available.

- 7 years of engineering experience
- 3 years of engineering team management experience
- 8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

- Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
