Software Development Engineer II, Amazon Pharmacy

As a founding member of our new Bangalore team youll architect and develop mission-critical fulfillment technology that ensures medication safety for millions while enabling rapid delivery capabilities to scale the business. Youll work on complex distributed systems handling inventory management order orchestration and compliance-critical workflows building from the ground up using Amazons latest cloud-native technologies and AI/ML capabilities.
The ideal candidate brings strong systems design experience expertise in building highly available services and passion for solving challenging technical problems where quality and compliance are paramount. Youll have the opportunity to integrate with latest robotics and automation systems while leveraging AI to optimize delivery speeds enhance accuracy and improve operational efficiency.

Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement software solutions that enable new features and improvements across major portions of your teams systems balancing short-term delivery with long-term maintainability.
- Own the full software development lifecycle for your projects including product definition scoping coding testing deployment and ongoing operational support.
- Actively participate in code reviews providing meaningful and constructive feedback to teammates and coach others on producing high-quality well-documented code.
- Collaborate with customers stakeholders and cross-functional peers to understand business and customer value ensuring you deliver the right solutions to the right problems.
- Identify and resolve root causes of operational issues driving permanent fixes and continuously improving your teams processes and system reliability.

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 1 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
