Snowflake AI Engineer (Cortex)

We are looking for an experienced Snowflake AI Engineer (Cortex) with strong hands-on expertise in Snowflake AI capabilities particularly Cortex Semantic Views Cortex Analyst and Snowflake Agents.

The ideal candidate should have experience working as a technical lead handling client interactions and team responsibilities while remaining actively involved in hands-on technical development. Strong SQL data modelling and Snowflake query optimization skills are essential.

Note: Traditional Machine Learning (ML) model development is not a requirement for this position. Snowpark knowledge is good to have but advanced expertise is not mandatory.

• Design develop and implement AI-driven data solutions using Snowflake Cortex.

• Work with Snowflake Cortex Analyst Snowflake Agents and Semantic Views to enable AI-powered data analysis and natural-language querying.

• Develop and maintain semantic models and business-friendly data structures for analytical use cases.

• Write complex SQL queries and optimize query performance within Snowflake.

• Design and maintain robust data models aligned with business and client requirements.

• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement query optimization techniques.

• Use Snowpark for data processing and transformation where required.

• Collaborate with clients and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

• Lead technical discussions guide team members and review technical deliverables.

• Contribute as an Individual Contributor (IC) through hands-on development troubleshooting and solution design.

• Follow best practices for data quality governance security and maintainability.

• Stay updated with new Snowflake Cortex capabilities and AI-driven data solutions.

• 7 years of relevant experience in data engineering Snowflake development or related technical roles.

• Hands-on experience with Snowflake Cortex and Snowflake AI capabilities.

• Practical exposure to one or more of the following:

  • Snowflake Cortex Analyst

  • Snowflake Agents

  • Snowflake Semantic Views

  • Cortex-related AI-powered analytics

• Strong SQL skills including complex queries and performance tuning.

• Good understanding of data modelling semantic modelling and database design.

• Experience with Snowflake query optimization and performance troubleshooting.

• Ability to work as a technical lead while contributing as a hands-on developer.

• Experience in client communication requirement gathering and technical solution discussions.

• Good problem-solving analytical and communication skills.

• Basic knowledge of Snowpark.

• Familiarity with Python and data transformation workflows.

• Understanding of data governance access controls and secure data handling in Snowflake.

• Experience implementing AI-powered analytics or natural-language data querying solutions.

We are looking for a professional who combines strong technical expertise with leadership and client-handling capabilities. The candidate should be comfortable managing a team interacting with clients and independently contributing to technical development.

Important: Prioritize candidates with hands-on Snowflake AI experience. General Snowflake data engineering experience without practical exposure to Cortex or related AI features may not be sufficient.
