Senior Data Modeler – (OLTP & SQL Server)

We are looking for a Senior Data Modeler with strong experience in OLTP database design relational data modeling and Microsoft SQL Server. You will work with Business Analysts Product Managers Architects and Developers to translate business requirements into scalable maintainable and well-structured database models for enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design conceptual logical and physical data models for OLTP applications.
• Translate business requirements into entities relationships attributes and business rules.
• Design ER models tables primary keys foreign keys constraints and indexes.
• Apply normalization and 3NF principles to relational database design.
• Work closely with Architects and Developers to ensure database designs support application requirements.
• Review and improve existing database structures for data integrity scalability maintainability and performance.
• Support database enhancements and new application features.
• Understand transactional processing relationships concurrency and referential integrity.
• Document database designs assumptions dependencies and business rules.
• Use modern AI-assisted tools such as ChatGPT Claude or GitHub Copilot to improve productivity SQL development documentation and troubleshooting.

Qualifications :

Required Skills

• 810 years of overall experience in Database Development.
• 3 years of hands-on experience in Data Modeling / Database Design.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server / T-SQL.
• Strong understanding of OLTP and transactional databases.
• Experience with logical and physical data modeling.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • ER Modeling
  • Normalization / 3NF
  • Primary & Foreign Keys
  • Cardinality
  • Referential Integrity
  • Constraints
  • Indexes
• Experience designing databases for enterprise or commercial applications.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective database designs.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Azure SQL or AWS RDS
• Database performance tuning
• Transaction and concurrency concepts
• Audit/history data design
• Healthcare Pharma or Life Sciences experience
• Exposure to application development/API integration
• Experience using AI tools for engineering productivity
