Job Summary
- Design deploy and maintain media processing and delivery systems including ingest transcoding packaging and CDN integration.
- Ensure high availability fault tolerance and scalability of media infrastructure across on-premise and cloud environments.
- Monitor system performance conduct root cause analysis and implement proactive measures to prevent outages.
- Collaborate with production engineering and operations teams to support live broadcast and streaming workflows.
- Optimize media workflows for latency bandwidth efficiency and quality of service (QoS).
- Implement and manage automation scripts and CI/CD pipelines for media system deployments.
- Stay current with emerging media technologies including MPEG-DASH HLS CMAF and cloud-native streaming platforms.
- Document system architecture procedures and incident reports in compliance with internal standards.
- Support disaster recovery planning and execution including failover and backup strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering Media Technology or a related field.
- 25 years of hands-on experience in media system engineering broadcast infrastructure or streaming technology.
- Strong knowledge of media protocols (RTMP SRT HLS DASH CMAF) and streaming architectures.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix system administration and scripting (Bash Python).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Google Cloud or Azure) particularly in media services (e.g. AWS MediaLive MediaConvert CloudFront).
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker Kubernetes) and orchestration tools.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex media delivery issues across networks and systems.
- Experience with media processing tools such as FFmpeg Wowza or Red5.
- Strong understanding of network fundamentals including TCP/IP multicast QoS and bandwidth management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills attention to detail and ability to work under pressure during live events.
