Quality- Engineer Senior Engineer Assembly
Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
Precision Metrology & Inspection: Set up calibrate and operate advanced laser tracker systems (e.g. API Faro & Leica) and spatial analyzer software to perform large-scale 3D coordinate measurements on aircraft structures.
Aircraft Assembly Verification: Inspect structural assemblies fuselage alignments wing attachments and system installations against blueprints CAD models and engineering drawings.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze 3D measurement data generate comprehensive inspection reports and identify deviations from design tolerances (GD&T).
Tooling & Jig Alignment: Assist manufacturing teams in the periodic calibration alignment and leveling of assembly jigs fixtures and production tooling.
Compliance & Documentation: Maintain quality records sign-offs and first-article inspections (FAI) in compliance with AS9100 standards.
Non-Conformance & Corrective Action: Manage NCR SCAR and deviation requests & Root cause analysis using 8D 5 Why Fishbone
Requirements
Required:
Experience: Minimum of 35 years of experience in aerospace quality inspection specifically within structural assembly.
Metrology Expertise: Hands-on experience operating Laser Trackers (Leica Faro or API) and utilizing metrology software (e.g. SpatialAnalyzer PolyWorks or Verisurf).
Technical Literacy: Expert ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
GD&T Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with aviation quality management standards (AS9100 ISO 9001) and regulatory requirements.
Preferred:
Associate degree or technical certification Aerospace Technology or a related field.
Experience with additional metrology tools like portable CMM arms (FaroArm Hexagon) or photogrammetry.
