Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

Conduct Incoming In-Process and Final Inspection of fabricated and machined components as per drawings specifications and approved QAP/ITP.

Prepare review and implement QAP/ITP while ensuring strict compliance across all manufacturing stages.

Prepare review and control WPS PQR and WPQ/Welder Qualification Records in accordance with applicable codes and customer requirements.

Perform comprehensive welding inspection including fit-up visual inspection monitoring weld parameters and identifying welding defects.

Coordinate and monitor NDT activities (UT RT MPT/MT and LPT/PT) and review corresponding NDT reports.

Perform precise dimensional inspection of fabrication and machined components based on engineering drawings and tolerances.

Inspect key machining operations including VMC CNC Turning Milling Drilling Boring and Grinding.

Review engineering drawings dimensional tolerances and GD&T requirements to maintain quality standards.

Verify MTC (Material Test Certificates) material grade heat numbers and maintain complete material traceability.

Prepare and review inspection reports dimensional reports welding records and final quality dossiers.

Identify quality issues initiate NCRs conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).

Coordinate with Customer TPI (Third-Party Inspection) and agency representatives for stage and final inspections.

Monitor the quality of outsourced processes including machining fabrication NDT and other special processes.

Ensure calibration validity of all measuring and testing instruments utilized on-site.

Support ISO 9001 / QMS internal and external audits and systematically maintain quality records.

3. Mandatory Technical Skills

WPS / PQR / WPQ: Strong practical knowledge and application.

QAP / ITP: In-depth knowledge of preparation review and implementation.

Welding Inspection: Strong expertise in welding inspection techniques & defect analysis.

Fabrication & Machining: Hands-on inspection experience in both heavy fabrication and precision machining.

VMC / CNC Inspection: Operational knowledge for inspecting VMC and CNC machined components.

NDT Methods: Proficient knowledge of UT RT MPT/MT and LPT/PT.

Material Control: Sound knowledge of MTC review material traceability and heat number control.

Dimensional & GD&T: Expertise in reading engineering drawings dimensional checks and GD&T principles.

Customer / TPI Handling: Proven capability in managing client and third-party inspection audits.

CAPA & Quality Control: Practical knowledge of NCR Root Cause Analysis and CAPA resolution.

Standards & Codes: Working familiarity with ASME Section IX AWS D1.1 ASME Section VIII and IS/ASTM standards is an advantage.


Requirements

4. Candidate Profile

810 years of relevant QA/QC experience in heavy fabrication pressure vessels structural fabrication and/or machining industries.

Strong technical aptitude with the ability to independently manage quality activities from raw material stage to final inspection and documentation.

Excellent communication inter-departmental coordination problem-solving and quality reporting skills.

Certified Welding Inspector / NDT Level-II certification will be an added advantage.

Required Skills:

Required Skills & Qualifications Experience: Minimum 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in quality control/assurance specifically within a precision machining environment. Technical Proficiency: * Expertise in reading and interpreting complex GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) symbols and engineering drawings. Standards: Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 or IATF 16949 standards. Education: B.E. / or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Soft Skills: A sharp eye for detail (naturally) strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical issues clearly to the production team.
